The health and disease burden addressed by many of the Foundation’s projects are a function of economic depression in rural and frontier counties. In most cases, these counties can benefit from the assistance of a non-profit through the grant preparation skills, project management and coordination, and facility support that comes with an organization such as the Minnechaduza Foundation. As an active participant in the community of Northern Nebraska and Southern South Dakota, the Minnechaduza Foundation steps forward to provide such assistance. In the end, working for the economic betterment of these communities will substantially lift the burdens we labor to carry. Our most recent project along these lines is participating in the economic development initiative underway in Valentine and Cherry. At the current time, the Valentine City Council and Cherry County Board of Commissioners have ratified an inter-local agreement, complete with funding from each, to operate the Valentine-Cherry County Economic Development Board (VCCEDB). The VCCEDB is conducting a wide range of the projects designed to strengthen the local economy and elevate the prosperity of the city and county. You can learn more about this effort at:
