The Valentine Teen Center, christened Bay 323 in 2002 by its devotees, is located in the Valentine City Hall building, occupying 2 of the 3 original fire department truck bays.  This program, developed, funded, and supervised by the Valentine Youth Planning commission, provides a celebratory format on Friday evenings for visiting, games, dance, and music, serving 6th through 9th graders.

For academic year 2007, the Foundation plans to work with the Youth Planning Commission to deploy youth-tuned messages in Bay 323 to leverage the opportunity to inform child of safety issues.  As part of that plan, the Minnechaduza Foundation is preparing grant applications to support paid staffing in the facility, which will enhance the capacity of the facility to serve as the site for a comprehensive after-school program.  All of these activities require the time of Foundation staff, and the energy of the following volunteers to whom we send a big “Thank you!”.

If you’d like to help in the project with either funding or time, contact us and we’ll get you contribution plugged in!

Bay 323—Valentine Teen Center

What it is:  Bay 323 is where 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grades ’hang out’ on Friday night—aka, Valentine’s Teen center.
